The purpose of this chapter is to maintain existing, predominately single family detached residential neighborhoods where a wide range of residential amenities are available in an environment conducive to meeting a variety of social and economic needs and to:

A. Allow for single family development that is compatible with existing development;

B. Maintain the character of neighborhoods with compatible residential design;

C. Allow for neighborhood commercial uses that are compatible with residential neighborhoods; and

D. Require streetscape design that minimizes the impacts of both new development and the automobile on existing residents. (Ord. 11-13-2001 § 2 (part))
